Hezekiah Baker is one of the earlier Highwaymen
who started painting in the mid-1960's. Like
other Highwaymen he was strongly influenced
by Alfred Hair and his Highwaymen sales techniques.
Hezekiah says he always
wanted to paint, not just occasionally but seriously.
Life, as it has a habit of doing, got in the
way and he earned his living as an insurance
salesman, merchant and lately as a restaurant
owner.
Mr. Baker still lives
in Fort Pierce today.
He no longer paints.
