FanNation.com: A product of Sports Technologies Inc.

Sports Technologies, Inc., based in Connecticut, was founded in 2006 by a small team of former ESPN.com employees and other Internet veterans. Their mission is to create the world’s largest fantasy sports community and a place where all sports fans can trade opinions and gather information.

The main product of Sports Technologies, Inc., FanNation.com, is a web destination that aggregates, filters, and customizes all the relevant player and team content available at any time on the Internet. Instead of searching endlessly for the sports news you want FanNation.com finds it for you and delivers it to one place. You get the news faster and fantasy Fans gain a distinct advantage.

FanNation.com provides this up-to-date information in a community setting with a user-friendly design. Users, the Fans, blog about anything and everything in sports, network with other sports fans, create groups of interest, track favorite players and teams, and communicate with friends. On this site individuals collaborate to become the Republic of Sport ™ where Fans share their passion for both real and fantasy sports.

In addition to its own website, Sports Technologies partners with other companies who want to provide their users the games, aggregated news, and tools that are available at FanNation.com.

Sports Technologies, Inc. is funded by a knowledgeable, sports-minded group of investors whose backgrounds range from investment banking to ownership in a professional sport franchise.

A Word On Our Technology

FanNation was developed using the Ruby on Rails framework originally released by David Heinemeier Hansson and continuously updated by the rails core team. While developing FanNation, we leaned heavily on the Rails Recipes, Agile Web Development with Rails, and Ruby for Rails books, as well as the Ruby and Rails framework sites. To keep up with the latest advances we also frequented several great Rails blogs like Riding Rails, Rails Express, codefluency, Gluttonous, Ruby Inside, has_many: through, and a host of others. We couldn't have done it without these resources and the entire Ruby on Rails community.
