Wouldn't that be a slap in the Wirtz..

My sense is that the Hawks are abusing the rules but not breaking them (there is no rule stating a maximum contract length). That said, if the Hawks are in violation of the CBA, I'd love to see the punishment include either a loss of draft picks or a cap hit (e.g. they Hawks have a cap of $5 million less/year for a couple of years)...that would truly punish the behaviour.

Ah the famous "League sources" strikes again!. This is the Sun we're talking about. Almost as reliable as the Post.

Is this even a real story? Because when you click on the Toronto Sun link it takes you to a story about Petyr Sykora? And I looked on the rest of the hockey page for the Sun. No such story on there?

Should the NHL be investigating the Zetterberg contract too? If there's a loop-hole, the smart ones use it.

What are the Sens trying to do? Audition for a Pillow Soft commercial? They already are one of the softest teams in the NHL! Now they want to add Sykora!

Players like Mike Comrie, Heatley, Kovalev and (dare I say it?) Alfredsson and Spezza IS what's wrong with the Senators. FCOL, they even have a guy named Christoph Schubert in thier lineup!

Until the Sens revamp their entire philosophy and start getting tougher, they're going nowhere fast!

What? I posted this on the Sens thread! Oh, well!

Like a said a few times: They should've kept Martin Havlat!

I thought when Bill Wirtz died that things would turn around for the Hawks.
