SEATTLE (AP) Joan Bonvicini missed coaching during her year out of the profession.
Even she was a bit surprised that what she says is a perfect opportunity to return would arise during the summer at a school reclassifying to Division I status.
Bonvicini (Bawn-vi-see-nee) was introduced on Tuesday as the new women's basketball coach at Seattle University. One of only 18 coaches in Division I history with more than 600 victories, Bonvicini takes over a program that's without a conference and still four seasons away from being eligible for the NCAA tournament.
