Synopsis:
A little boy shows up at Avengers Mansion and asks to see the Avengers. Jarvis is dismissive, but Janet lets him in. Once in, he runs past her and into a lab where Cap, Thor, and Iron Man are. He explains that he is a man cursed with eternal life, who cannot die. They don't believe him. He takes out a gun and shoots himself in the head. They are horrified, but moments later, he disintegrates and is reborn as the same boy. He is now able to explain to the Avengers how, as Morgan MacNeil Hardy, he was subjected to a psi-augmenter, which made him remember all of his previous lives. He also now is reborn in minutes instead of days. The Avengers try to help him. Iron Man deduces that his life force is one with the earth, and that he must live forever. He vows to try and find a cure, though. However, the boy runs away. He goes to Florida, where a solar orbiter is to be launched. He sneaks aboard. Once the spacecraft nears the suns, he reprograms it to go into the sun, thinking it will kill him. However, he is still reborn, this time as a nearly mindless sun creature. He comes back to earth, vestigial memories draw him to New York City. Once the Avengers show up, he knows he must destroy them for some reason. Eventually, the creature recovers his memory, and is able to speak. The Avengers recognize Hardy's voice. Cap's shield is able to hurt the creature, the Avengers then attack this weakened spot. The creature appears about to go nova. Thor then creates a vortex to send the creature into space. There is a huge explosion, and the creature is presumed dead. However, the Avengers look into the crater caused by the explosion, and see the boy again. However, he now appears to have no memory of the past, or any of his past lives. Thus, the threat is over, though some doubt is left as to whether or not he has truly lost his memories or is just faking it.
