Future Archives Presentations

August 11, 2009. Archivists Riccardo Ferrante and Lynda Schmitz Fuhrig team with North Carolina State Archives's Electronic Records Archivist Kelly Eubank to deliver a half-day workshop "Achieving Email Account Preservation with XML" at the Society of American Archivists 2009 annual meeting in Austin, Texas.

August 13-14, 2009. Tammy Peters, Jennifer Wright and Ginger Yowell of the Archives Division present the poster "Doing It Yourself (Almost): The Dreaded Move." Between 2006 and 2009 the Smithsonian Institution Archives moved approximately 26,000 cubic feet of records into three new facilities, relying almost entirely on existing resources. SIA used this opportunity to improve the physical condition and intellectual control of its collections. This presentation is at the Society of American Archivists 2009 annual meeting in Austin.
