The Agency for Jewish Learning (AJL) is the central resource for Jewish education in Pittsburgh. The AJL serves to engage the wider community by strengthening all of Pittsburgh’s Jewish learning providers through training and consultation; development and distribution of educational resources; promoting networking and collaborative opportunities among educators and institutions; offering a menu of adult learning classes. AJL departments include Adult Learning, Jewish Teacher Institute, Jewish Teacher Resource Center, School for Advanced Jewish Studies (community supplemental Jewish high school), and Special Needs.

Community Day is a K-8 independent Jewish Day School fully accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Private Academic Schools and affiliated with the Solomon Schecter Day School Association and the National Association of Independent Schools, at Community Day, students are challenged to make each day matter. Hillel Academy was established more then 55 years ago as a Jewish Day School committed to blending excellence in general studies with the timeless teaching of the Torah. The Holocaust Center is an educational resource center on the Holocaust — the only one in Western Pennsylvania. We offer a library — videos and books, Speakers Bureau (Holocaust Survivors, Liberators and second generation), and programming about the Holocaust. The Center is dedicated to the education, documentation and commemoration on the Holocaust.

The Jewish Association on Aging offers a full array of home, community and residential services, providing comprehensive, coordinated care and facilities to meet the changing needs of our community’s older adults. Mollies Meals provides nutritious meals to seniors in their homes. For those who need assistance with seniors during the day, they may choose to attend the Council Care Adult Day Services programs. When the time comes to leave their homes, seniors may choose to move into Weinberg Terrace or the Assisted Living at Weinberg Village. Complete nursing and rehabilitation services are available at the Charles M. Morris Center. The Sivitz Jewish Hospice provides in-home hospice services to those with life-limiting illnesses.

Blue Knot Pittsburgh is a networking group for Jewish professionals across the country who share an interest in technology. The Kollel provides training to its post-graduate fellows to become rabbis, elementary, high school and college level teachers, Jewish administrators, authors and adult education specialists.
