What do you think of cloud computing reliability?
Google News had a hiccup overnight, close on the heels of last week's massive outage that affected most Google products.
Will the enterprise consider using something more reliable?
Will this hurt cloud adoption in the enterprise?
The CIOs and industry professionals who spoke to Computerworld tend to think not.
Cloud computing $$$ don't add up.
When you look at the cloud computing providers, the ones that are truely cheap don't offer any real support or contact details if something goes wrong. You basically get shunted into the "File a ticket and we'll reply in 2 hours" pile.
That's not really the way to run a business. If something goes wrong, you'll be sitting there telling you boss. "Well... We don't know why it broke, we don't know when it will be back, but we filed a ticket 2 hours ago." The only number you can call is the one for setting up an account or changing your CC details.
