Hillel

Welcome to the online home of the Hillel Jewish University Center of Pittsburgh!

It is very easy to get involved with the Hillel JUC. You can join us for one of the many events offered each week, come for Shabbat services and/or FREE dinner on a Friday night, practice your PlayStation skills with a variety of games, kick back and enjoy our High Def Multimedia center, catch a movie in our 3rd floor theater, or just chill out and meet other students in our Israel Café.

At the beginning of each semester, the Hillel JUC hosts several large and intimate programs to welcome students back to campus. These often include concerts, live comedy performances, parties, dinners, and activity fairs. These are all terrific opportunities to connect with fellow students and Hillel JUC staff. By exploring your Jewish options on campus, you can select what interests you the most and how and where you want to get involved. Some students pursue multiple endeavors through the Hillel JUC, while others focus on one area that especially appeals to them. And other students prefer to access the myriad of Jewish organizations on campus as they do more secular organizations, several at a time. It’s your choice, and you can even create your own program, with support from student leaders and Hillel JUC staff!

Are you a student running your own program?

You can now submit the details of your program online to be reviewed and confirmed by the Hillel JUC staff. Click the link below to begin filing your program request form!

How do I get involved?

The best way to get involved is to be informed, so please join our mailing list now and indicate your specific interests. You can call us at 412-621-8875 or you can contact a CMU or Pitt student directly at cmuhillel@gmail.com or pitthillel@gmail.com.

Any student on campus can participate in Hillel JUC sponsored events. There are no membership fees and students are encouraged to plan and/or attend as little or as many programs and activities as they wish. Programs are supported by Parents, Alumni and the Jewish community of Pittsburgh. If you have an idea for a program or would like to find out about leadership opportunities, please click here.

The Hillel JUC is more than a building; it is your home away from home for the next four years. We’re excited to meet you!
