This is faithful Buzzworthy Blog reader tokio_charlotte, who was one of Buzzworthy’s VERY first commenters back when, like, I practically had to beg even my Mom to comment. Anyway, tokio_charlotte is AWESOME and hilarious, and she’s made an appearance on Buzzworthy before, and she’s kind of like Buzzworthy’s unofficial mascot, since she’s funny, cool, completely consumed by pop culture, and she listens to everything from Fall Out Boy to Miley Cyrus to the Jonas Brothers to NPR. Um, and Tokio Hotel. But more on that in a second…

From what by following her Twitter, tokio_charlotte watches more movies in like a week than most people see in two lifetimes, and she changes her hair color more than most people change their undies in a week. Anyway, in response to the piece I wrote on the dreaded, feared return of scrunchies (booo — Scrunchies are to me and Buzzworthy what Mom Butts are to Alexa Chung), tokio_charlotte Tweeted me this photo of herself wearing a Scrunchie, not realizing that I didn’t realize SHE HAS A TOKIO HOTEL TATTOO. ON THE BACK OF HER NECK!

tokio_charlotte got her Tokio Hotel tattoo on february 19, 2008, a few months after she turned 18. Incredulously, she also got the tattoo BEFORE she saw Tokio Hotel live in concert for the FIRST TIME on August 19 of 2008. Gotta respect cojones like that.

Anyway, I’ve been missing our Buzzworthy Tokio Hotel mutual admiration society, and I thought I’d share the love via tokio_charlotte’s INSANELY hardcore Tokio neck tat (which is the second Tokio Hotel tattoo I’ve seen up close and personal!) Proceed to adore tokio_charlotte and her amazing musical tastes and tat…

Do you have any band tats? Also, Tokio Hotel fans — HI! I’ve missed you guys! :< And, because it’s pretty much monsooning outside here in Times Square, let’s watch the “Monsoon” video after the jump, shall we? Take your pick. Regular or live!

The coaches: Ernest “E-Knock” Phillips of Status Quo, Suzette Sagisi, and Marcos Aguirre of Boston’s Wrush Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance.

The judges: Tina Landon, Fonzworth Bentley, and… Sean Kingston, who’ll also perform “Fire Burning.”

The challenge: Abby, Pat, and Megan will perform live in front of their ENTIRE SCHOOL… for a chance at…

When they were just here the other day answering your Buzzworthy Blog fan questions, Gabe, Alex, and Ryland revealed a little bit more about more about Cobra Starship’s almost-here, almost-ready “Good Girls Go Bad” video, starring Leighton Meester, off their also almost-here, almost-ready album, Hot Mess. (Did you see my sweet inner lip tat on the album cover? Hurt like a B+TCH, but it was worth the glory!)

Anyway, find out more about the impact of the Prohibition Era on Cobra Starship’s new video, gambling, carousing, and lots and lots of “cahoots.” What does “cahoots” even mean? I don’t know, but Gabe says it a LOT in this exclusive Buzzworthy video. Use your context clues. Watch it now, and drink (milk) every time Gabe says it. Michael Jackson was called many things throughout his 50-year life — a freak, a criminal, a savior, and a saint — some of them true, some of them hearsay. But regardless of his scandal-plagued past, there are two things Michael Jackson has been called that cannot be denied or refuted: A superhuman talent, and an international pop icon whose talent was immeasurable. I’m confident that no one reading this will witness another star or celebrity as important — or as gifted — as him in our lifetime.

What you remember Michael Jackson is will be up to you, but the awe inspired by watching him glide across the stage, Moonwalking –  in those black patent loafers and white socks — as if by magic; the simultaneous fear and captivating thrill of watching him lead a pack of twitching zombies into the “Thriller” dance; the spine-tingling adrenaline rush that kicks in every time I hear the first few notes of “Billie Jean”; the pure innocence of his voice in “I’ll Be There”; the sheer orgiastic dance blitz that is “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”; or the earnestness of “Man In The Mirror” are the ways I will always remember — and never forget — Michael Jackson.

How will you remember the King of Pop?

Figuring you’ve heard me blab away about the Jonas Brothers enough already, I decided to hand over the editorial review reigns to the Buzzworthy Blog Jonas Brothers fans out there to hear your thoughts on their brand-new album, Lines, Vines And Trying Times and get your take on their effort.

Honestly, I expected a lot of effusive, ebullient freakouts, but instead, you wrote some serious, critical reviews of the Jonas Brothers’ new album.

The standout Lines, Vines And Trying Times review was submitted by Buzzworthy reader LindsayWarner, who’s 16 and from South Dakota. Lindsay wrote a highly insightful, measured, and informed track-by-track review of Lines, Vines And Trying Times. And it turns out Lindsay and I had a lot of the same feelings about the album — the JB’s collaboration with Common is definitely the oddest point on the album, “Before the Storm” (the Miley duet) is the album’s emotional apex, and “Much Better” is an irresistible throwback track. But, you don’t have to take my word for it! Here’s Lindsay’s review!

If you have never listened to the Jonas Brothers before, ‘Lines, Vines, and Trying Times’ is definitely a superior album to cozy up to.

The album kicks off with “World War III”, a song about a girlfriend apparently trying to start a fight for no reason. The vocals in this song are fierce and a horn section blasts above most of the song that gives it even more of a kick.

“Paranoid” follows “WWIII”, and unlike its Black Sabbath namesake, the Jonas’ version of “Paranoid” has a lighter, catchier tune accompanied by some very cleverly written lyrics. It’s one of those songs that can (and probably will) get stuck in your head for days at a time.

“Fly With Me” has a likeable, bouncy piano intro followed by words that can make all of the single folks in the world want to find that special someone as it talks of a couple that is ok with being with each other forever. On the other hand, “Poison Ivy” is the mirrored opposite of “Fly With Me”, portraying a relationship gone bad.

What stings more than a metaphor comparing someone to poison ivy? Well, possibly it is “Hey Baby”, the next song, which tells a tale of someone basically being dumped and not seeing it coming. Yep…that stings too. Another notable aspect of “Hey Baby” includes extremely talented fellow musician, Jonny Lang, who also got into the music business early on, playing lead guitar on the track.

“Before The Storm” is a very melancholy song, in sound and through its lyrics. It is definitely the tear-jerking emotional song of the album and is a song that will make you think of your own previous relationships and experiences in love and just cause you to hurt. It is brilliantly written and the guest vocals of Miley Cyrus are spot on.

“What Did I Do To Your Heart” has a very western feel to it, especially with the fiddle kicking off the tune and continuing through the song’s entirety. It is kind of an “um…I did what? Oh, I broke your heart? No I didn’t. What? I did? Nope. I did not.” type of song. Full of blame and confusion.

“Much Better” cites “influences from the Bee Gees to Neil Diamond” in the liner notes and that is definitely apparent. The bubbly disco sounding song mixes with the lyrics, assumed to be about Taylor Swift, to tell of a lady who is much better than the teller’s previous girl. As for it being about Miss. Swift? Take that as you will. Overlooking all of the hype about it being written as a revenge song, with its falsetto refrains of “You” and it’s groovy tune, everything comes together perfectly to make a great song. (It’s probably one of the only songs ever written to use the word “BFFs” as well.)

I have a special place in my heart devoted to high-energy, melody-driven rock songs — and for mustachioed hipsters in cut-off jeans — and Florida export Fallbrooke set up shop in my happy little heart the minute I watched their “Losin’ It” video.

There are many reasons I’m obsessed with “Losin’ It,” and some of those reasons don’t even involve chest hair, though it’s certainly a plus. Top of the list — an appearance by the sexy (though chaperoned), Mandy Jiroux — as in, “Manders,” Miley Cyrus‘ bestie and partner in vlogging and going to Starbucks.

“Losin’ It” is based on a real-life online omance/frustration, so it was totally apropos to recruit Manders, who gives great video, for the Web-themed video. I’d even tell Schmanders to stick with her Web-cam niche had she not already branched out into girl group territory. P.S. Mandy’s group, The Beach Girl5, shared recording space with Fallbrooke (signed to RMR Music Group), a proximity that led to an encounter and subsequent gig.

Overall I heart Fallbrooke for its good-boy rocker vibe, as well as for Eric’s strong vocals, showcased in my favorite Fallbroke song, “Can’t Have You”. Seriously, if the “Losin’ It” video doesn’t charm you, check out Fallbrooke’s MySpace for “Can’t Have You” and the boys’ (pretty adorable, though not completely current) vlogs.
