Sotomayor Nomination
"The main objection is that I think she defines judicial activist in the following sense: that even in cases where the statutory language is fairly clear, she has substituted her policy preferences for the clearly enacted will of the Congress."

Government Spending and the Obama Budget
"Although President Obama campaigned on a platform of fiscal responsibility and deficit reduction, his new budget dramatically expands the deficit. After "bottoming out" at $512 billion in 2013—a level more than 10 percent above the highest deficit under the presidency of George W. Bush— OMB projects the deficit to increase to $779 billion in 2019, or 3.4 percent of GDP. By 2019 government spending would take up nearly a quarter (22.8%) of GDP, far higher than at the peak of Iraq war spending." - Diana Furchtgott-Roth
