NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Music icon GIL SCOTT-HERON has been sentenced to two-to-four years behind bars for violating conditions of a plea bargain stemming from drug possession charges in 2001. The REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED hitmaker, who is considered a pioneer of hip-hop, was served the sentence on Friday (07JUL06) in New York State Supreme Court. The court heard that Heron violated the agreement by leaving an in-patient drug treatment centre, according to the New York Post. According to the publication, Heron left the clinic after they stopped giving him his HIV medication.

Memories of our pasts are at times best held in the glorious light we had them
shine in to make it easier to handle the cruelty of reality. As friends and
family age, it places a heaviness on the heart seeing those we cherish in a
different place but it seems that at times this is the reality is life. For
those who can accept the transitions without the pain it may make us stronger
but it truly does impact us a heavy heart.
I Love ya Gil .... We STILL need you more than ever
We need your words in song..
