World Series Gate Receipts 1903 - 2008

Through the 2008 Fall Classic, there have been one-hundred four World Series contests with six-hundred six Series games played in front of 27,117,924 fans.

During the 1932 World Series slugger Babe Ruth said, "Hey, Mark, who are those cheapskates you're with." Mark Koenig was once a teammate of Ruth's and his new club, the Chicago Cubs, voted him a half-share because he was not around for the entire season.

Did you know that during the World War II years, players in the World Series received a percentage of their shares in War bonds? Did you know that the Wildcard team does not receive a share unless they move-up to the next playoff round?
