William Levy melted corazones during the 13th annual “Los 50 Más Bello” a-list event at the Edison Ballroom in New York. The “Cuidado con el ángel” star shined in a midnight satin blazer, but he wasn’t the only one modeling bold colores. His on-screen lover, Maite was also seen flashing an embellished violet gown, while his wife Elizabeth Gutierrez kept it classy in a simple black dress. Last year it was all about “In the Heights“…

The hit Broadway show garnered several award wins including “Best Musical,” and this year Lin-Manuel Miranda and “Distracted” star Cynthia Nixon (better known as Miranda on “Sex and the City”) announced the nominations for the 2009 Tony Awards this morning at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The playbill had the inspirational British production “Billy Elliot: The Musical” written all over it with a total of fifteen nominations including “Best Musical.”

Wondering where the Latinos are at? Cuban American performer, Raúl Eduardo Esparza also received a nomination for “Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play” for “Speed-the-Plow.” The Florida native has impressed on and off-Broadway audiences since 2004. Let’s hope he snags the award!

New developments have shaken Chris Brown’s court case…

According to MTV News, the R&B singer’s attorney Mark Geragos addressed reporters after the court hearing earlier today. Chris’ lawyer declared that he wants the felony assault charges completely dismissed due to ‘high-level’ leaks. Geragos will file for a motion specifically targeting leaked photos including the one showcasing a battered Rihanna published on TMZ. He also mentioned that he has not yet seen the evidence collected by the LAPD on the day of the attack.

Allison Iraheta is officially the last young lady standing on the American Idol stage…

The 17-year-old isn’t just holding it down for las chicas, but she is also representing the Los Angeles’ Animo Ralph Bunche Charter High School. Last week, MTV News paid a visit to Allison’s familia, but now they took to the halls of her escuela to find out how famous the Salvadorian redhead was with fellow classmates. Several kids reveal that she was never the shy type (surprise, surprise!), but she still had a humble personality. The shocker is that she never liked to show off her singing skills in school!

Just about everyone is freaking out about the recent swine flu epidemic including Gloria Trevi.

The Mexican pop star recently canceled all of her tour dates in Spain due to the deadly outbreak that penetrated her country two weeks ago. The Health Secretary of Mexico, José Ángel Córdova has confirmed that at least twenty deaths have been reported thus far. As a result, a great sense of fear as taken over as everyone waits for answers in regards to how the disease was born.

La Trevi decided to cancel and stay with her family to ensure that they are as safe as possible. She apologized to all of her Spanish fans and declared that she will visit Madrid once the madness is over. We are glad she knows to put familia and salud first.
