Damn, one line in a song might as well be credited for single handedly killing Scott Storch's career... Not that I miss the Casper the Ghost-impersonator, but he straight fell off, and hard! Little by little stories about his misfortune have come out, but now he's a fugitive who has seen a hit in over 3 years.
Just a few years ago, Scott Storch was one of the top producers in pop music, living in a $10.5 million mansion on an exclusive Miami island, driving a phalanx of luxury cars and dating the likes of Paris Hilton and Lil Kim.

Nowadays, Scott Storch, 34, is missing in action. He owes over $500,000 in real estate taxes and had a warrant out for his arrest when he failed to show up in court in a child-support case last month. He has not had a top 10 hit in three years. He still has his waterfront marble mansion, but his lawyer, Guy Spiegelman, says Storch is attempting to refinance it after a "catastrophic occurrence this year" resulting from "mismanagement." Storch no longer works with his old manager or publicist. He hasn't talked to either of his children in months. [SOURCE]
Damn shame...

I have no idea how these things end up on YouTube, but Fresh always finds the best buffoonery ever! I couldn't even laugh, I just stared at the screen in utter confusion...
Keison Wilkins, a 33 year old man on trial for various charges including felonious assault, felon in possession of a weapon and firing a gun into a habitation was sentenced to 42 years in jail. But not without a week of crackpot drama, including the video above where Wilkins faked a heart attack to stall the proceedings.
The judge is the best though...she just kept it rolling. Pure shits and giggles to the week...

My girls always tease me for having an “inner white girl” but what can I say, I’m a biracial girl from Cali born in the 80’s… I grew up loving New Kids on the Block, Joey Lawrence and Save by the Bell! So when it comes to music, I love my pop!

So I thought I’d drop off some of my “songs of moment”… You may love them already and if not you may want to add them to your heavy rotation. Little bit of pop, little country, little rock!

LISTEN: Katy Perry – “I Kissed a Girl”
If you haven’t heard this song, you clearly live in a cave in Alaska because it’s been no. 1 for the past four weeks. I remember hearing it a few months ago on XM, I kind of liked it but then I added it to my playlist and listen to it about 6 times a day. I mean it’s no. 1 so they play it a million times a day, but every time it comes on I turn it up and sing along.

LISTEN: Carrie Underwood – “Last Name”
Okay, so I can’t say I listen to country on the regular, actually I don’t listen to the genre at all, but a good song is a good song and Carrie Underwood has one of the best voices in music today. I love my Dixie Chicks too, though. Anyhoo… her current single is just fun and I love it!

LISTEN: OneRepublic – “Say (All I Need)”
OneRepublic’s album Dreaming Out Loud is one my favorites of ’07. They got a lot of play when they teamed up with Timbaland to revamp “Apologize” but there next 2 singles were just as fab. “Stop and Stare” is also a favorite but this newest single is one my favorites from the album overall. I love Ryan Tedder’s voice…

LISTEN: Pussycat Dolls – “When I Grow Up”
Poor Nicole just couldn’t swing it without her backup dancers, but she still steals the spotlight as the lead singer. Sometime you have to stick with what you know… I actually didn’t really feel the song at first listen when they performed it on the MTV Movie Awards, but when I heard it again on the recorded version it stuck… It’s just a great dance song.

Oh how I love me some Robin Thicke, I am thrilled he is back on the scene. Today he debuted the video for his first single "Magic" on 106 & Park. He'll be releasing his third album Something Else this Fall on Sept. 9th. The orchestra in this song is just amazing...loves it!

I get a Star Wars meets Solid Gold vibe from the video which was directed by Robin and Robert Hales, who gave us Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy." He's even dancing...but I'll give him a pass on that! LOL...

You can check out a behind-the-scenes look on his official MySpace.

My two favorite dancers on So You Think You Can Dance, Will and Katee, absolutely blew me away with their Pas De Deux. I now firmly believe that some teams are paired with choreography that only they can do. I loved Katee with Joshua as a team, but there is no way he would have been able to execute this piece the way Will did. Both have great technical skills and Will has such personality. I just fell in love with this piece, Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden were fab!

I think Will is going to take this competition!

Few have made a mark on hairstyle trends, but after Rihanna started chopping her hair into this rocker chic do, ladies have now been requesting “the Rihanna.” She joins the ranks of Meg Ryan and Jennifer Aniston (who can forget “the Rachel?”) in the salon hall of fame… Funny thing is I know I have heard many of my friends say they were thinking of cutting their hair like Rihanna. She's definitely leaving her mark on style these days.

As she discuss her style journey in the new InStyle cover feature, it’s all too flattering…
"The first time I heard people were asking for the Rihanna, it was really flattering and maybe a little strange. It caught me by surprise, but now I feel it's a very cool thing. I don’t feel the pressure to change it up again at all. I like it, as they like it."

This issue is about breaking fashion and design rules. What are some you’d like to crush?
The idea of not wearing brown and black together seems so dated. The other day I wore a black T-shirt, black Nobody jeans, a brown leopard-print belt by Dolce & Gabbana, and brown Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and it looked awesome. Also the rule about not matching your makeup to your outfit. I do that onstage, matching red lipstick to a bright red jacket or neon-pink eye shadow to a pink jumpsuit. And I also love to mix prints.

But you weren't always a fashion maven? Growing up in Barbados, you were a tomboy.
"I wore my brother's clothes, dresses with sneakers, or no shoes at all. I would always get into trouble with my mom. She would say things to scare me like, 'You're going to get cut!' But I couldn’t help it. I would climb trees, steal mangoes, catch birds—silly things that were fun to us at the time. My cousin and I were the only girls in the group. We would have to stand up for ourselves because the guys didn't want us around."

Your mom owns a boutique and your dad works at a garment factory—is a Rihanna fashion line in the cards?
"I am working on that right now. It takes a lot of effort, and I want to be involved with every step of the process."
What do you look for in a man?
"I look for personality, I like humble men, I like guys who make me laugh, someone who makes me happy and genuinely cares for me as a person."
Hmmm...is that how she would describe Chris Breezy? They need to stop and just admit it.

When word hit that Nas planned on naming his upcoming album “Nigger” or the n-word for those politically correct, ish hit the fan! The controversial title had people up in arms, shaking their heads and asking WTF? After much dismay over the title and him and wife Kelis showing up to the Grammy’s like walking billboards, Nas decided let the album go untitled…

I just wondered how he expected to sell the album…can you imagine the average person walking up to FYE asking for that new “Nigger” CD? Especially when the major consumers of hip hop albums are young white males… Where’s a Dave Chapelle skit when you need one?!

But in a recent CNN interview, Nasir Jones explained he didn't change the album's name to please the Rev. Al Sharpton and other black leaders. Rather, they were stealing his thunder.

"I don't think I liked the attention I was getting from some of the elders in my community," he said. "I saw it kind of leaning toward being about them ... only about them. I kind of wanted to just shake that off of me."

After some up and downs, Brandy is looking to make her industry comeback. The above is a new promo pic that surfaced today and word is she is set to officially release her first single on her MySpace page August 8th! Later this year she will be releasing her fifth album on Epic Records, which I am excited about. I totally stan for Brandy, I've always loved her.

Early this month a new track leaked, that was actually a new song called "List." I meant to post it then but that was right after Essence, so no time like present. It's a hot song, great track...

Alicia Keys premiered the video for her newest single"Superwoman" exclusively on AliciaKeys.com today. It's such a beautiful song and one of the best on her album. The video is nicely done as well, love the concept of all these women in different places in life and cultures.

Rihanna covers her 50-11th magazine, gracing the cover of the September issue of Today's Black Woman. She looks stunning as usual, love the black gown.

Her knack for looking pretty has garnered her the opportunity to be the new face of Gucci. Rihanna has signed up to be the face of Gucci’s upcoming “Tattoo Heart” campaign for children’s charity UNICEF. Launching in December, the ad campaign will feature the singer sporting a line of limited-edition Gucci products.

Sweet...
