David Duchovny and his son Miller attended the New York Islanders vs New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden on February 18, 2009 in New York City.
X-Files actor David Duchovny and Lost starlet Evangeline Lilly have been selected by Swiss watch brand Baume & Mercier to star in its fourth Baume & Mercier & Me advertising campaign. All royalties for the two celebrities, and the photographers who shot their portraits, will be donated to various charities.
The charities receiving the royalties have been chosen by Duchovny and Lilly and include cancer research, child education and poverty organisations.
Previous Baume & Mercier & Me campaign stars have included Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Basinger, Teri Hatcher and Ashton Kutcher.
Gillian Anderson is auctioning her old flip-flops to raise money for charity.
The X Files star’s worn footwear has been autographed and is on sale on internet auction site eBay to raise money for the Lancaster Opera House.
The description reads: “Gillian Anderson has graciously donated a pair of her autographed and worn sandals.
Condition: Very worn. Bottom of shoes show lots of wear. Very distinct toe prints on sole of both shoes. These thong sandals must of been one of her favourite pairs! Gillian has signed the sole of the left shoe. Signature is done with a black marker and is an A+ bold signature.
Outstanding and rare piece for any memorabilia collector of Gillian Anderson.”
The bidding started at 100 US dollars and is already up to 218 dollars. Bidding closes on Monday February 16.
Scarlett Johansson recently raised 5300 US dollars for charity auctioning her used tissue on eBay.
Gillian’s flip-flops are for sale on eBay.com under the title “Gillian Anderson autographed and worn platform sandals”.
Pedigree, owned by closely held Mars Inc., will use the Super Bowl to introduce a revamped campaign to help an estimated 4 million dogs in shelters find new homes.
The spot, called “Crazy Pets,” features the voice of “X- Files” actor David Duchovny and shows a world without dogs. It features an ostrich chasing a mail man and kids trying to play fetch with a bull. It’s a departure from a previous campaign with dogs behind bars and melancholy music, said John Anton, director of marketing at Nashville, Tennessee-based Pedigree.
“We’ve taken a more humorous approach to communicating our commitment to adoption,” Anton said. He declined to say how much the company paid for the spot.
America Ferrera tells ET’s Thea Andrews she became “sisters” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Catherine Keener after an embarrassing moment at last year’s Emmy Awards. The SAG Award nominee says her fellow actresses helped her pin up the tulle of her dress before she walked on stage to present an Emmy last year. Other SAG nominees talk with Thea included, former ‘Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead’ costars, Christina Applegate and David Duchovny. ET also caught up with Penelope Cruz, Susan Surandon and the award-winning cast and crew of ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’
The screaming, squealing fans that luck into a seat in a long canopied bleacher are hoarse halfway through the afternoon. They beg for an autograph, a wave, even eye contact but most of the stars pass with barely a glance their way. Some, though, do answer the bellowing pleas; David Duchovny, looking slimmer and more serious than in past years, unhooked a velvet rope to approach the bleachers and scribble his name for deliriously happy fans.

My admiration for the comic timing of the great Tea Leoni dates back to “Flirting with Disaster” so it pleases me to learn her new film debuting tonight at Sundance is a comedy and calls for her to talk fast and funny alongside the likes of Billy Bob Thorton. That it comes from the great Polish brothers and is called “Manure” is just icing on the cake.
When I chatted with Tea this morning I brought up her reported split with husband David Duchovny as gently as possible and she admitted the year has been hard. But she’s also talking like a woman whose marriage isn’t quite over (or am I reading too much into it)? Does this in fact add fuel to the speculation last week after Duchovny’s Globes speech perhaps?
The London theatre scene in 2009 reflects our tumultuous times as it presents several plays depicting an England, and a world, in turmoil — not just now, but at various times during the past century.
Uneasy souls of several eras are on offer courtesy of the Donmar Warhouse. Beginning Jan. 22, the theatre will offer Be Near Me, adapted for the stage by Ian McDiarmid — who also stars — from The Booker Prize-nominated novel by Andrew O’Hagan. McDiarmid plays David Anderton, an Oxford-educated Catholic priest who befriends two unstable Scottish teenagers in his parish. Jonathan Pryce and Anne Reid star in Athol Fugard’s Dimetos, about a skilled engineer who escapes to a remote coastal village in search of a simpler existence. Performances begin March 19. And, Gillian Anderson stars as Ibsen’s immortal Nora in a new production of A Doll’s House, starting May 14.
David Duchovny said he is doing well following the tabloid reports that have plagued the “Californication” star and his family since the actor admitted to undergoing counseling for sex addiction in the summer of 2008.
“Last year was a difficult year,” David told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on the Golden Globes red carpet. “And I can say that I personally, have never felt better. And I think the better I am, the better my family can be.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the Showtime star entered rehab for sex addiction in August of last year. Two months later, a report surfaced that he and wife Tea Leoni were divorcing.
But last night, David referenced Tea on stage as he helped present at the show. He told the audience that his wife had sent him a text message with words of encouragement over his Best Actor, Drama, nomination, for his role in “Californication,” from his son.
And just a short time before, David told Shaun on the red carpet, that his family is “strong.”
“Our family is great and you know, there’s a lot of stuff that’s personal and… we’re grateful for the support,” he said. “We’re a strong family and there’s a lot of love in our family and we’re just really grateful for everybody’s concern.”
And, in addition to his family life, David said personally, things are on the up.
“My life has changed, in many ways, for the better,” he said.
But everything hasn’t been easy for the star.
When Shaun suggested David didn’t look like someone who had been through the wringer, the actor replied, “looks can be deceiving.”
David Duchovny thanked his wife Tea Leoni in his first public appearance since he was treated for sex addiction.
“I’m thankful for so much,” he told E! on the red carpet of the Golden Globe awards for which he was nominated for his role in TV series Californication. “I’m just most thankful for my life and my family. My wife and my kids - the simple things in life. My gratitude opens my heart every day. I feel blessed.”
The actor announced that he and his wife were separating after he went into rehab for sex addiction last year. They have two children, Madelaine West and Kyd.
“You do change. It’s all about the actions,” he said when asked about the past year. “I hope the people close to me and my loved ones feel the change.”
The X Files star, who plays novelist Hank Moody on Californication, lost out to Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock, who won the Golden Globe gong for the category Best Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy.
