Guster rocks for recycling
Guster performs Thursday evening on the Clements lawn as part of Program Council's Code Red concert.

Program Council hosted a Code Red Concert featuring Guster on Thursday night in Clements Lawn. This concert is part of Guster's Campus Consciousness tour to help raise awareness about recycling. Six eliminated from Athletic Marketing department

Down a dark hall covered with red and blue paint and matching tiles is the door to the SMU Athletic Marketing Department. The lights are still on, but the offices are empty as black chairs and computers sit untouched. On Tuesday, six employees scrambled to complete the finishing touches of Saturday's Red and Blue Scrimmage, but within 24 hours, these same employees were informed they no longer had a job with SMU.

Mustangs back on center stage

Mustangs back on center stage

The Mustangs will showcase their spring talent in the Red & Blue Scrimmage at 1 p.m. Saturday inside Gerald J. Ford Stadium. The scrimmage consists of approximately 40 plays. The key player to watch is sophomore quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell. Mitchell threw for 2,865 yards last season and scored 24 touchdowns.

Plenty of variety this week at box office

"The Soloist" - Robert Downey Jr. stars as Steve Lopez, a columnist for a Los Angeles newspaper. As he's searching for a new column idea, he comes across Anthony Ayers (Jamie Foxx), an ex-Julliard attendee and classical music prodigy. Ayers, who is homeless, plays his broken violin on the streets of Los Angeles.

Remember that scene in National Lampoon's Van Wilder where Tara Reid pulls the fire alarm and snags a bunch of educational records? Maybe things at Coolidge College are that easy, but at SMU the thought of getting any sort of records at any time is pretty laughable.
