It is such a relief to hear a politician that actually WANTS to be direct. I'm sure that a lot of wealthy conservatives won't really like the idea... but I just really hope that whoever wins office...that this plan will be taken seriously. I feel like every year there is always the risk of losing financial aide for college-especially on the state level. It's about time that politicians like Edwards know the importance of providing the opportunity for ALL students to be able to afford college.

Oh yea, this is a smart idea, the more you work the more you get taxed. Ha! If I'm wealthy I'll just work less while you that is not wealthy will be working more to pick up the slack. Raising taxes slows productivity. Like on the state level, you raise taxes on the rich (who owns businesses, like the mom and pop bookstore)? Yes you might not think them as being rich but a small business get hurt the most. Who is to stop that business from packing up and moving somewhere ells more business friendly or just stopping production all together. You can raise taxes all you want, smart people are going to find away out of it.
p.s. Were Democrats in Congress are from represent some of the wealthiest districts in the Nation (like NYC or SF).
