Full Biography

Hailing from Charlotte, NC, The Talk, made up of Justin Williams (guitar, vocals), Scott Werner (guitar), Jeremy Holcomb (drums), and CR Poole (bass), was formed in 2001. Pulling their signature sound from the influences of 70's punk, 60's pop, and late 80's indie rock, The Talk has made their own niche in the music scene.

After weeks of rehearsal, the band put out the demo No, You Shut Up!, and recorded it a few months later in a local studio. "We only had a few hundred dollars saved up so we just went in there rolled tape and played," said the band. It paid off, and the band was voted as Charlotte, North Carolina's Best New Band of 2002 by Creative Loafing.

After a year of playing shows and writing new material, The Talk was ready to record an album. They were asked to submit a track for a compilation record for a new label, MoRisen Records. "We...gave them "Valentine's Day", a song off No, You Shut Up!... they really liked it and wanted to put out the entire record..." said the band.

The Talk headed out to Nebraska, home of Presto Recording Studios to record their full album, and It's Like Magic in Reverse was finished in 2004. "We came home feeling really good about what we had done and were really excited about releasing it," said the band. "We really just want to play good shows and make records. If any good comes from that, then fine. If not, it's just a great experience to have a chance to do all of this."
