Greetings from the Dean
 
Welcome to the website of Tuskegee University's Andrew F. Brimmer College of Business and Information Science.  Our programs in business and computer science provide our graduates with a solid basis in the liberal arts, a core of knowledge in business or computer science, and a strong field specialization chosen by the student based on personal strengths and preferences. Our students develop strong communication, analytical, and reasoning skills that are necessary in today's employment environment.  Experiential learning-not just the textbook, is also incorporated in our learning environment. Our dedicated and able faculty devises programs and curricula that are both challenging and beneficial to the student.

As in any true academic setting, we try to encourage our students to accept the available knowledge we have to offer them, but also encourage them to question accepted norms and to know that they will have to develop many new answers themselves.  Even more importantly, as the world and business environments constantly change, they must know that they will develop many of the questions that have yet to be asked and answered.

In addition, we take a holistic approach to education, not only developing technical skills and a strong knowledge base, but also giving attention to the person.  Thus we also promote character skills such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, dependability, reliability, and accountability.  We introduce students to skills that will be necessary to transition from a student to a work environment.  We teach them that one must be able to work both independently and in groups. 

Our corporate partners are an integral part of our educational process. They provide internships and co-ops for students while they are enrolled and full-time employment upon their graduation.  They collaborate with the faculty and dean on program/curriculum needs and on emerging issues in the market.  They also visit our classrooms and participate in the TUBE conference to share first-hand with our students on issues from applied theory to leadership skills to corporate culture.

All that goes on in the College is done to develop competent individuals that are highly sought after by businesses, government, and graduate programs of international renown.  Our graduates are highly successful, ready to take their place with future leaders of tomorrow.
