mtvU is MTV Networks' Emmy-winning 24-hour college network-the largest and most comprehensive media network just for college students. The heart of the channel is the emerging music students live their lives to, including music videos and a range of series profiling the up-and-coming acts bubbling on the college scene.

Program Description
mtvU's Campus Rep Program works with qualified students who serve as the eyes and ears of mtvU on their campuses. Whether it's distributing products from mtvU and it's sponsors to promoting mtvU contests and events, or helping mtvU build local entertainment guides for their college,the Campus Reps work on a variety of mtvU initiatives while at the same time, gaining hands-on marketing experience.

This is an ideal position for marketing-inclined students who are passionate about music and are web saavy. As an mtvU Campus Rep, you are on the ground and in the trenches, so your involvement is the key to keeping mtvU hooked in to every aspect of campus life.

Eligible Students
An ideal candidate knows their campus and the local scene. As a Campus Rep, we need you to keep your finger on the pulse of music and entertainment in your market, as well as know the latest hot spots and restaurants for your campus. Ideal reps are up to date on the latest in music and pop culture news, hi-tech gadgets, gaming, trends and more.

We highly encourage students who are part of on campus organizations and work well with school administrators to apply. Applicants must be responsible, organized and self motivated. Reps must be able to work flexible hours and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends, on and off campus.

The mtvU campus rep program is an excellent match for marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, journalism, communications, and students interested in the music industry and entertainment media. We encourage enthusiastic students in all majors to apply.

The College Rep Commitment

There will only be 1 or 2 reps per campus. Only students ready to make at least a full school year commitment should apply.

Requirements

• Students who are currently enrolled in a college with two or more years before graduation.


• Students must be registered for an internship for academic credit with their college or university, and must provide official documentation upon acceptance into the rep program.


• Anticipate spending up to 10 hours per week working on mtvU related activities.


• Reps will submit reports (photos, surveys etc.) of on campus events and/or promotions, conduct marketing research, and present organized and detailed reports.


• Reps need to be comfortable surveying other students, and act as a liaison between mtvU and campus newspaper, campus radio station, and other student organizations.


• Student must have an excellent understanding of the web, as well as user generated content and other social networking sites.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Must have access to voicemail, email, internet. A digital camera and/or scanner is useful but not required.


• Access to transportation - car is helpful but not required.
