At the risk of being harpooned by the anti-whalers, could I ever so tentatively suggest that we ponder a change of approach from the dangerous full-on confrontations, ship collisions and drama in the dangerous Southern Ocean.

Elections make victors and victors make speeches. Over the years that I've been listening to them, some of those speeches have been stirring and eloquent, and some have been by George Bush. But all have said more or less the same thing and that thing is fluff. Nice fluff, perhaps, even requisite fluff, but fluff all the same.
