Nova Lighting has acquired Jon Gilmore Designs, a contemporary wall decor company, and American Lamp Company, a transitional lamp manufacturer. The additions expand the Nova line to include hard-wired fixtures, sculpture, mirrors, clocks, screens and accent furniture.
"Bringing the versatile product offerings and outstanding design capabilities of industry leaders like Jon Gilmore Designs and American Lamp Company under our umbrella offers tremendous creative growth potential for us," said Daniel Edelist, president of Nova Lighting. "The American Lamp acquisition opens up more transitional styling resources, which will help in the further development of the broader lifestyle assortment we're working toward. In addition, Jon Gilmore and his design team will help us expand into wall decor and develop a whole new range of coordinating hard-wired fixtures, decorative screens and portable lamps."
As part of the acquisition, Orange, Calif.-based Jon Gilmore Designs will maintain its design and production facilities, now operating under the Nova brand. Company founder Jon Gilmore will join the Nova team as its chief designer. Gilmore has been creating innovative wall decor, clocks, mirrors and accent furniture under Jon Gilmore Designs and Accessory Art since 1974.
A leading manufacturer of premium table lamps, floor lamps, torchieres, accessories and shades, Oxnard, Calif.-based American Lamp Company has been in business since 1968. The American Lamp Company production facilities have been absorbed into Nova's production facilities, and the line will be sold under the Nova brand. Tom Shreve, owner of American Lamp Company for the past 45 years, will join Nova's team as the sales manager for the Western region and will support the product development effort for American Lamp Company.
