What is an RSS feed?

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication is an XML-based document for distributing web contents. Anyone can subscribe to RSS feeds with an RSS reader or aggregator. The reader displays links, headlines, and a brief summary of the feed. The reader automatically includes update information of the feed contents for RSS subscribers.

How do I read RSS feeds from IT Division?

You will need to install an RSS reader to view the feed. You may search for "RSS reader" on the Internet and there are many options for download. Most readers require the web address of the feed in order to display the RSS. For Internet Explorer 7 users, there are built-in features of RSS readers; for Firefox users, you need to install additional add-ons, such as BeatNik, Newsfox, etc.
  • Click on the orange RSS icon to display the feed in xml;
  • Copy the URL from your browser and paste it to the RSS reader.
