Bigelow confided that every time she's asked about her action-packed nail-biter, the question starts off with, "So, you're a woman..." At the fete, the filmmaker compared notes with another fest darling, "Slumdog Millionaire" helmer Danny Boyle.
That same night, New Line/Warners hosted a gala for "Pride and Glory" at which helmer Gavin O'Connor discussed his nearly decade-long battle to get the film made.
Across town, at a more casual gathering, Bingham Ray's annual Toronto fest darts competish brought out a distinctly indie crowd that included Sundance programmer Trevor Groth, "Kisses" helmer Lance Daly, Magnolia topper Eamonn Bowles and Sidney Kimmel exec Jodi Hildebrand.
Monday night's party schedule was just as busy with dinners for Miramax's "Happy-Go-Lucky" and IFC as well as latenight fetes for "The Brothers Bloom," "Sugar" and Magnolia Pictures. Yari Film Group's "Nothing but the Truth" also had its gala preem with helmer Rod Lurie and thesps Alan Alda, Kate Beckinsale and Vera Farmiga.
