The Mission of the Office of Student Life is to enhance the education of all Syracuse University students by promoting and advising co-curricular activities that are welcoming, engaging, and diverse, while intentionally connecting students to experiences that foster creativity, community, and possibility.

While striving to accomplish our mission, the Office of Student Life is committed to the following values in our work with each other, colleagues, and most important, the student community:

Student Centered – We will actively promote student rights, responsibilities, and partnerships. We will give students access to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students. We understand that student collaboration and teamwork are critical to our success as an organization.

Community – We will inspire each other and our students to be conscientious, accountable, and engaged community members. We will be attentive to others’ perspectives, and responsible for our own actions.

Diversity – We will promote a learning environment in which students are engaged with a broad mix of skills, knowledge, backgrounds, experiences, and lifestyles.

Scholarship – We will foster learning that goes beyond the classroom and into everyday communications and interactions we have with each other, and with the local and global community.
