United Business Media sells UK Automotive titles to Newsquest

16 September

United Business Media plc ("UBM") announces today that it has concluded a definitive agreement with Exchange Enterprises Limited, a subsidiary of Newsquest Media Group Limited ("Newsquest") in relation to the sale of Exchange & Mart and Auto Exchange, for £50.25 million in cash.

This sale largely completes the programme of significant disposals in line with UBM's stated strategy of realising value from non-core businesses and focusing on investment in high-growth, integrated, specialist markets for professionals and enthusiasts and news distribution.

The disposal of Exchange & Mart and Auto Exchange is not expected to generate any tax liability for UBM and the proceeds will be retained for reinvestment in UBM's other portfolio businesses.
