High Efficiency Toilet (HET) rebates - $265 per fixture
Receive $265 per fixture when you replace older, water-guzzling toilets with HET models. HETs use a minimum of 20% less water than standard 1.6 gallons-per-flush (gpf) toilets. Toilets that flush at 1.28 gpf or less are considered HETs, such as those using dual flush or pressure assisted technology. Dual Flush Toilets save water by offering a separate, low-water use flush setting for liquids (between 0.8 to 1.1 gpf) in addition to the standard 1.6 gpf for solids. Pressure-assisted toilets use air pressure to push water through the tank and out the bowl, thereby using less than 1.3 gpf, on average.

High Efficiency Clothes Washer (HECW) rebates - Now $710 per washing machine
If your laundromat or laundry room's washing machines are over 5 years old, you're paying too much on utility bills. High Efficiency Washers (HECWs) lower water and sewer rates by 35 to 50 percent, reduce energy costs by about 50 percent, and require 50 percent less laundry detergent. In addition, drying time is minimized by extracting more water from the clothes in the spin cycle, than in traditional machines.

Smart Irrigation System Controllers rebates for CII Customers - $750 per irrigated acre
IRWD, in partnership with the Family of Southern California Water Agencies, is providing rebates to encourage commercial, industrial and institutional (CII) account holders to upgrade their old irrigation controllers with new weather-based technology. These smart controllers for irrigation work on a simple principle: provide the appropriate watering schedule, adjust for weather changes and irrigate based on the needs of the landscape.

With smart controllers installed on your commercial property, you will be able to avoid over-watering and excessive runoff by scheduling only the precise amount of irrigation your landscape needs, based on the type of landscape you have and current weather conditions. Smart irrigation controllers can protect your landscape investment while improving both the health and look of your irrigated plants.

In order to participate, CII account holders must possess a fully operational automatic irrigation system on a minimum of 1200 square feet of irrigated landscape. The existing controller should not exceed a maximum of 48 valves. (Note: New Smart Irrigation Controllers can be installed in new construction, pending IRWD approval on a case-by-case basis.)

Rebate funds are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. The rebate amount cannot exceed the price of the new device. To receive a Smart Irrigation Controller rebate information with full details on how to participate, call toll free 1-877-728-2282 or visit Save Water - Save A Buck.

Rotating Nozzles for Pop-up Spray Heads rebates - $9 per nozzle
Rotating nozzles apply water much more slowly and uniformly than conventional spray nozzles, allowing the water to soak into the ground instead of running off. When replacing conventional pop-up spray head nozzles with rotating nozzles, it is important to simultaneously replace all of the nozzles drawing water from irrigation lines receiving water through the same valve. This rebate also requires a minimum purchase of 25 rotating nozzles, with no maximum.

Only rotating nozzles purchased on or after January 1, 2008 will be considered for the $9 rebate. For full details on how to participate, call toll free 1-877-728-2282 or visit Save Water - Save A Buck.

Pressurized Waterbroom rebates - $150 per broom
Save up to 50,000 gallons per year by using the Waterbroom to wash down sidewalks and work areas. How? When you use a hose and nozzle to clean surfaces, you're using anywhere from 8 to 18 gallons of water per minute. With a pressurized Waterbroom, you will clean more efficiently and use as little as 2.8 gallons per minute. The Waterbroom nozzle jets use a combination of air and water pressure, allowing the work area to dry in minutes, helping to reduce liabilities.

Studies have shown that the Waterbroom requires 75 percent less labor to operate than a garden hose or conventional broom. Anyone from age 16 to 80 years of age can operate the light-weight, effortless waterbroom, because the combination of air and water pressure do all the work. This water-saving technology cleans and removes dirt, food spills, leaves, litter, lawn cuttings, sawdust and bird droppings from concrete, asphalt or any other composite surface.

For further details on how to receive the $150 rebate, and a Waterbroom rebate application, call Save Water - Save A Buck, toll free, at 1-877-728-2282 or visit Save Water - Save A Buck.

Cooling Tower Conductivity Controller rebates - Now $1,625 per device
If the conductivity controllers on your property's cooling towers are over five years old, they could be operating at low efficiency. A cooling tower, with a five-year-old conductivity controller, may use twice as much water as a newly installed, high-efficiency unit.

Automated monitoring and control are the keys to maintaining cooling system efficiency. By accurately transmitting information to the valves that control the amount of blow down (water drained from the cooling tower reservoir) and subsequent makeup water, a conductivity controller can dramatically reduce operating expenses. Additional savings will be realized through reduced sewage costs, reduced chemical usage and alkalinity control, allowing you to cut total cooling tower conductivity costs by up to 40 percent.

For further details on how to receive a $1,625 cooling tower conductivity controller rebate, and a rebate application, call Save Water - Save A Buck, toll free, at 1-877-728-2282.

pH Conductivity Controller rebates - $1900 per device
Installing a state-of-the-art integrated pH Conductivity Controller will allow you to upgrade your cooling tower water treatment by adding chemicals that control the pH in the system. This may help prevent scaling in your cooling tower, even as you increase its water efficiency. In order to qualify for rebates, a pH controller must also measure conductivity. Upon installation of an approved device, you will save significant water in the operation of your cooling towers, improve operational efficiency and reduce sewage and chemical costs.

For more information on how to purchase qualifying products, contact your HVAC vendor or call Save Water - Save A Buck, toll free, at 1-877-728-2282. The rebate amount cannot exceed the price of the new device.

X-Ray Film Processor Recirculation System rebates - $3,120 per system
The amount of water required to operate a non-digital x-ray film processor can be reduced by 98%! By installing this conservation device used for medical x-ray film processing, annual utility savings of $600 per year, per unit can be realized.

In one year, a typical film processing system needlessly sends hundreds of thousands of gallons of water down the drain. The average processor uses 788,400 gallons of water per year. With this circulation system, you can reduce wash-water effluent to 13,530 gallons per year, which lowers water and sewage costs.

Visit Save Water - Save a Buck or call 1-877-728-2282 for more information on how to purchase X-Ray Film Processor Recirculation systems. The rebate amount cannot exceed the price of the new device.

Connectionless Food Steamers rebates - $485 per steam compartment

Restaurants often use food steamers to maintain or warm food. Recently, new water-efficient, connectionless (pressureless) food steamers, which have no water line or sewer discharge line, have been developed. This type of food steamer is intended for small- to medium-size restaurants.

Based on data from a study done by the Food Service Technology Center, the connectionless steamers save an average of 81,500 gallons per year with an estimated 10-year life. Rebates are available for qualifying connectionless food steamers, with more than ten manufacturers offering water-efficient models.

Steam Sterilizer Retrofit rebates - up to $1,900 per device

Retrofit your existing bulk sterilizers with a Steam Sterilizer Retrofit and realize tremendous water and cost savings! The average sterilizer uses between 1 to 5 gallons of water per minute continuously. The water is used to reduce the temperature of hot condensate created in the sterilizing process prior to sending it down the drain. The Steam Sterilizer Retrofit, a water-saving device, eliminates the "tempering" water consumption during the non-sterilizing portion of the sterilizer’s cycle thereby substantially reducing overall water consumption.

Why Retrofit your existing Bulk Sterilizer?
There are two reasons to use a water tempering device. First, most municipalities prohibit draining water hotter than 140° F (60° C) into their sewer systems. And second, PVC drain pipes are susceptible to damage from water that is too hot. When faced with either of these situations, the Steam Sterilizer Retrofit is the solution!

Visit Save Water - Save a Buck or call 1-877-728-2282 for more information on how to take advantage of this rebate program and how to purchase a water saving and tempering device for equipment sterilization. The rebate amount cannot exceed the price of the new device.

Dry Vacuum Pumps - rebates of $125 per 0.5 horsepower, up to $500 per pump.

Vacuum pumps are used in a wide variety of petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing and health applications for drying, distilling, evaporating, degassifying, freezing, suction and laboratory analysis. Dry vacuum pumps create vacuum and avoid the use of water as a sealant by using parts machined with extremely close tolerances.
