eBill Overview

What is eBill?

eBill is an electronic version of your IRWD water bill that is transmitted to your email address instead of being sent to your home mailbox.  It contains all of the same information you’re used to seeing on your paper bill – but you get it faster and you can view and pay it online!

How do I Sign up?

You choose!  Some customers choose to pay all of their bills from one site.  If that sounds like you, you might decide to sign up to receive your IRWD eBill at your bank’s website* or at www.mycheckfree.com.  If you prefer to view and pay your bill from our website, you will register for account access at www.irwd.com and then sign up for eBill from the account details page.

*please check with your financial institution to make sure they offer this service.

Once you have signed up for eBill, you will no longer receive a paper bill.  You will receive an email reminder that your bill is ready to be viewed and/or paid on line.  In addition, you can log in at any time from the site you signed up at with your user ID and password to view your bills and payment status.

How do I Pay?

Enrolling with eBill allows you to view and/or pay your IRWD bill on line free of charge.  Payments are processed by CheckFree through your checking account.  You can schedule a payment monthly or enable “auto pay” and it will be automatically deducted for you on the due date.

Is Payment Secure?

Yes!  Thanks to the CheckFree Guarantee, you can be assured that your electronic payments are safe and reliable. That's because when your payments are processed through CheckFree, you are protected in the unlikely event of unauthorized transactions or processing delays.

What are the Benefits?

  • Convenience – Save time and money.  No checks to write or stamps to buy.  Just click to pay or choose “auto pay”.  Billing and payment history is stored for you.  You can even print your eBills if you wish.
  • Enhanced Security - Replacing paper bills and statements with electronic versions allows you to reduce the flow of personal information from unsecured mailboxes, where it can be a target for theft. Additionally, monitoring your accounts regularly online helps speed the detection and resolution of identity fraud.
  • Help Conserve the Environment - Many Americans are looking for ways to conserve the environment. Receiving and paying bills online can make a big impact. Just consider: If every American household viewed and paid bills online, it could reduce solid waste in U.S. landfills by more than 800,000 tons a year and help curb the release of greenhouse gases by 2.1 million tons, according to Javelin Strategy and Research. This could also save an estimated 18.5 million trees a year.
  • One ton of uncoated virgin (non-recycled) printing and office paper uses 24 trees. (The National Arbor Day Foundation)
  • One tree makes 16.67 reams of copy paper or 8,333.3 sheets. (The National Arbor Day Foundation)
  • Every ton of paper recovered saves 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space. (American Forest & Paper Association)
  • In 2006, total mail volume grew by 1.4 billion pieces, to a total of more than 213 billion pieces. (USPS 2006 Annual Report)
