The mission of the German Village society is simple and direct:
Members of the German Village Society serve as Caretakers of A Legacy, dedicated to retaining the character and distinction of the past, while creating
a thriving and contemporary community in German Village.
Accomplishing our mission, however, is a great deal more complex. German Village is a 233-acre neighborhood listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We have our Meeting Haus that serves as town hall and event venue;
a visitors' center which assists thousands of guests; a web site that informs thousands more who make a virtual visit; a Calendar of Events that keeps us
all engaged; a range of programs that distinguish us as the most active civic association in the state of Ohio; and a staff that supports it all.
We welcome you, whether you are a new resident with lots of questions about owning property in an architecturally restricted historic district, a guest who comes for the German Village Haus und Garten Tour on the last Sunday of each June, or a diner with a passion for Schmidt's brats!
This site is designed to provide a great deal of information for our many audiences, but we remain available to you in person as well. Please don't hesitate to call (614) 221-8888 or to drop in at the Meeting Haus, 588 South Third Street for additional information, materials, or just an introduction.
Warm regards,
