Sets or retrieves reference information about the object.

Syntax

HTML<ELEMENT CITE = sCitation... >
Scripting[ sCitation = ] object.cite [ = v ]

Possible Values

sCitationString that specifies or receives reference information.

The property is read/write. The property has no default value.

Expressions can be used in place of the preceding value(s), as of Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5. For more information, see About Dynamic Properties.

Remarks

cite was introduced in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6

This property is designed to point to information (e.g., a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI)) that explains why a document was changed, or about the source of a quotation.

There is no functionality implemented for this property unless defined by the author.
