Dr. Kent Gee and Michael Gardner, members of BYU's Acoustics Research Group, conducted a series of measurements on the F-16 Fighting Falcon during September 2007. The measurements, part of an Air Force-sponsored project, were conducted at nearby Hill Air Force Base, home of the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings. Data near the jet plume were collected using 38 high bandwidth, high-intensity microphones and a LabVIEW-based PXI data acquisition system.
