2008 Holiday/Break Schedule

 
JANUARY
1 Tuesday - 6 Sunday ALL STUDENTS may work additional hours (semester break)
7 Monday Classes have started; students may not work additional hours.
21 Monday ALL STUDENTS may work additional hours on Monday holiday only.
 
FEBRUARY
18 Monday ALL STUDENTS may work additional hours on Monday holiday only.
U.S. CITIZENS may also work additional hours on the holiday weekend.
 
APRIL
16 Wednesday U.S. CITIZENS may begin working additional hours. (classes have ended)
19 Sat. – 28 Mon. ELC STUDENTS may work additional hours. (classes have ended)
24 Thurs. – 28 Mon. BYU INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (except those who graduated) may work additional hours
29 Tuesday ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS who are not on vacation break, may NOT WORK additional hours, classes have started
 
MAY
26 Monday INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (not on vacation break) may work additional hours Monday holiday only.
 
JUNE
20 Friday – 22 Sunday INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (not on vacation break) may work additional hours
(Break between Sessions) ELC STUDENTS MAY NOT WORK EXTRA HOURS, ELC CLASSES ARE IN SESSION
 
JULY
4 Fri. & 24 Thurs. ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS may work additional hours both holidays
 
AUGUST
15 Fri. – 31 Sun. ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (except those who graduated) may work additional hours
 
SEPTEMBER
1 Monday ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS may work additional hours on Monday holiday only
2 Tuesday Classes have started; students may not work additional hours. This includes ELC students.
 
NOVEMBER
26 Wed. – 28 Fri. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS may work additional hours Wed., Thurs., Fri. holidays only
26 Wed. – 30 Sun. U.S. CITIZENS may work additional hours Wed. - Sun. for the holidays
 
DECEMBER
12 Fri. – 31 Wed. U.S. CITIZENS may work additional hours (semester break)
13 Sat. – 31 Wed. ELC STUDENTS may work additional hours (classes have ended)
20 Sat. – 31 Wed. BYU INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS (except those who graduated) may work additional hours

PLEASE NOTE: The BYU work-week begins on Saturday at 12:01 am and ends the following Friday at 12:00 midnight.

ELC class dates: Winter: January 7 to April 18; Spring/Summer: May 6 to August 14; Fall: September 2 to December 12.

BYU International students may take their vacation break during the fall/winter semesters upon approval from the International Office. They are then required to take classes during the spring/summer terms and are restricted to 20 hours per week.

When classes are in session ALL students must return to their regular work schedule.
