COURT ADMINISTRATOR PRESBITERO J. Velasco, Jr. was recently named as the new Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. His appointment completes the 15-member roster of the High Court, which had a vacancy since December 21 due to the appointment of then Associate Justice Artemio V. Panganiban to the position of Chief Justice following Chief Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr.’s retirement.
Justice Velasco was sworn into office by Chief Justice Panganiban last March 31, after President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo announced Justice Velasco’s appointment that same day.
