The online Index-Catalogue of the Library of the Surgeon-General's Office, printed 1880-1961. This is used to identify early medical books, journal articles, dissertations, obituaries, letters and portraits. A total of 3.7 million items, mostly held at the National Library of Medicine, can now be searched online. Read the Help to understand the rules of searching. Patience is required.
