Virus protection is required on any computer connecting to the BYU campus network. For further information refer to the Software Distribution product page.
This product provides a connection to the campus intranet and the internet.
Note: All network connections from on-campus housing will be terminated and reset each Monday at 4:00 am. Individuals will be required to re-authenticate the next time they attempt to use the network or internet.
Office Access For Employees
For instructions, contact your CSR or TSR.
Public Access
To access the network, you must first authenticate (login) from a Web browser using your Net ID and password. Authentication is required weekly in on-campus housing. For public ports, authentication is required once daily and each time you connect from a different location. To authenticate, open a Web browser to http://www.byu.edu. You will be redirected to an authentication screen, and prompted to enter your Net ID and password. Public ports are available in the WSC, HBLL, TNRB and ESC.
Note: Static IP addresses and dynamic DNS are unavailable in on-campus housing (inbound TCP/IP connections from off-campus).
Office Access For Employees
There is no charge for public access. Some on-campus housing units have additional jacks that can be activated for a one time fee. Contact the Office of IT to request these changes.
For further assistance, contact the Office of IT at it@byu.edu or (801) 422-4000.
