Team Report

as of Tuesday, November 27, 2007 1:21 PM.

(Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets are off to a solid start to the 2007-08 campaign, but injuries are creeping up on the team. They have won nine of their first 14 games on their schedule.

Denver trails the first place Utah Jazz by one-half game in the Northwest Division.

On Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers start a four-game road trip when they visit the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. It is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On November 10th, Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Nuggets erased a 25-point deficit and knocked off the Pacers, 113-106, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Nuggets have won seven in a row in the season series. The Pacers have dropped three in a row at Denver.

The last time the Pacers defeated the Nuggets was on March 7, 2004 at Denver.

Denver will attempt to get back on the winning track against the Pacers. Tracy McGrady scored a game-high 35 points as the Houston Rockets pulled out of their recent slump with a blowout win over the Nuggets, 109-81, on Saturday at the Toyota Center.

Allen Iverson scored 18, and Carmelo Anthony had 17 points in the loss to Houston for the Nuggets, who have dropped two of their last three games overall. J.R. Smith chipped in 13 points off the bench for Denver, which shot a woeful 35.4 percent from the field in defeat.

The Nuggets are 6-1 at home this season. They have won five straight at the Pepsi Center. Denver is scheduled to visit Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday at the Staples Center.

Forward Kenyon Martin has bone bruise of his right tibia and is doubtful for Tuesday's contest. Martin is averaging 8.6 points and 4.9 rebounds in 13 contests this season for Denver.

Denver is already without center Steven Hunter (arthroscopic right knee surgery), forward Nene (left thumb surgery) and guard Chucky Atkins (strained right groin). All three are out indefinitely.

Anthony leads the Nuggets in scoring (25.2 ppg), while Marcus Camby has grabbed a team-best 15.0 rebounds per game and Iverson, who is second on the team in scoring (23.6 ppg), is averaging a club-high 7.2 assists.

The Nuggets are 3-4 when their opponent reaches the century mark and 7-1 when they score over 100 points.

NHL

At the end of each month, TSN.ca ranks and breaks down Canada's six Canadian NHL teams based on their performance, and provides a look ahead to key games.

2008 NHL Entry Draft

All eyes will be scouting the class of 2008 for the NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa next June. Sarnia Sting forward Steven Stamkos tops the list of prospects in TSN's early survey, and also leads the way in the ISS rankings.

The Next 'Next One?'

There's a new kid on the block in the hockey world, and his name is John Tavares. Just a few years after Sidney Crosby took the Canadian Hockey League by storm, the teenage phenom seems to be building up the same level of hype - and at a younger age. And he's not even eligible for the NHL Entry Draft - where he's projected to easily go No. 1 - until 2009.

The Crosby File

There is little doubt that Sidney Crosby is the best hockey player in the world right now, but is that enough for him to qualify as a true Canadian cultural icon? Where does he stand in the public consciousness?

The Best Class Ever

Mark Messier, Ron Francis, Al MacInnis, Scott Stevens and Jim Gregory were this year's inductees to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Check out each individual's bios, along with broadband features.

Quote of the Day

''I think it's a wonderful game the way it is today. Just because the goal-scoring is not as high as everybody would like it to be, I don't think there's anything wrong with the game. It's a terrific game.''

- New York Rangers president and GM Glen Sather on the state of the NHL game despite the fact that an average of 5.4 goals are being scored this season compared to 6.2 two years ago.

Stat of the Day

With a 4-3 win over Florida on Thursday, Boston won for the sixth time in eight games, and also broke a six-game losing streak to the Panthers dating to Nov. 3, 2005.
