Welcome to the University Advisement Center. Our primary responsibility is to assist students who are still considering their options make timely and informed decisions concerning the selection of majors, careers, and appropriate courses. We recognize that students, regardless of their age and year in school, are at different stages in the major/career decision making process. We have many resources at our disposal, including a caring and competent staff of advisement professionals, to assist students with the many the choices and opportunities that confront them. Additionally, we can provide special support and advisement to International students as they adjust to what might be a new educational system and philosophy. The University Advisement Center has also been designated the as the academic "home base" for students who participate in BYU's Summer Visiting Student program. The following represents just some of the ways that student.s can utilize our services to assist them during their stay at the university:

-Help with choosing a major and minor

-Understanding how a university majors can relate to a career

-Locating information about majors and careers

-Providing appropriate referrals to College Advisement Centers (for students who have decided upon a major)

-Negotiating the University Core/General Education requirements

-Help with registration and course selection for students still considering a major(s)

-Assist students who want to improve their study skills

-Provide appropriate referrals to other Counseling and Career Center offices as well as to other campus resources

We invite you to take advantage of the many resources at your disposal and visit with a UAC advisor whether you are just starting out at BYU or if you have been here for a while.
