We are pleased to announce that today we launched an additional 19,000 Travel Guides on AOL Travel. This expansion in coverage brings our total number of Guides to just under 21,000, covering popular travel destinations all over the world. We're especially pleased to tell you that we've made up for obvious destination omissions, such as St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos, St. Martin, Belize, and the British Virgin Islands. As with our previous Guides, each of the 19,000 additions lists popular hotels, displays an interactive map and presents an area to submit your own Review. We hope you enjoy our expanded coverage!
Update: 8/29/07- Today, we updated AOL Travel's Beta Travel Guides. We have two enhancements to our Travel Guides we're pleased to announce today:
1. All maps now have pan and zoom functionality. Previously, non-U.S. and Canada maps were static images. That has now changed, as you can zoom in and out as desired, or move the map in any direction to get more visual context to the city you're looking at. As an example, note the new functionality on the left side of the map on our Dublin Guide:
2. Reviews for destinations and hotels no longer require the Overall Rating to be selected before you can submit your review. We listened to your feedback and concluded that the mandatory rating for a destination or hotel was confusing. And since your voice is at the heart of our Destination Guides, we've made it easier for you to contribute your reviews.

Update: 8/08/07- Today, we updated AOL Travel's Beta Travel Guides. A lot of folks were not clear that they could provide their own reviews for cities they've visited. Others confused the "Beta Feedback" link with the "Review Submission" form. We agree the interface was more than a bit confusing on some levels and have made some changes that should hopefully make the forms' functionality make more sense and be more eye-catching and city-specific format. We hope you like it.
Welcome to AOL Travel's beta Travel Guides! Over 1,900 destinations and 96,000 hotels worldwide are now available for your travel planning needs. Complementary, city-specific information such as restaurants, bars, sights and events add to the depth of our Guides. Additionally, you can now tell us what you thought of a particular destination you've visited or hotel you've stayed at - good or bad!
