Dayrit had seven sons and one daughter, namely: Manuel, Conrado III, Fabian, Eduardo, Rafael, Ignacio, Regina and Francis. The director is professor Rex Emmanuel—not Manuel—Asuncion. The same article also misstated Asuncion’s undergraduate course. Asuncion earned a Bachelor of Music—not Bachelor of Science in Music Education—degree. Juan Miguel Zubiri referred to the "Senate minority leader," not Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan, when he was quoted in a story posted September 2. Zubiri said: "The same group of oppositionists who wants to trample on civil liberties by opening and listening to the Garci tapes were the same people who put pages and pages of amendments sa Human Security Act to prevent such thing from happening ... the Senate minority leader and Ping Lacson ... they were adamant putting safeguards in the Human Security Act against wiretapping, and yet they're the same group that insists on dwelling on the issue of wiretapping and playing the tape." The Senate minority leader is Sen. Aquilino Pimentel Jr." Apparently, the reporter misheard Zubiri when he said "Senate minority leader," thinking he was referring to the Senate Majority Leader. Links 2007-08-31, 07:56:00, Wrong date IN THE AUG. 29 ISSUE, the front-page banner story — “Joma Sison arrested” — misstated the year when communist leader Jose Ma. Sison started his self-exile in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The same mistake appeared in a front-page story in the Aug. 30 issue — “Kintanar widow: I can fly to The Hague to testify.” Sison applied for political asylum in The Netherlands in October 1988. Marcos called for a snap election in November 1985 — not 1986. Salonga’s law partner was Dr. Sotero — not Jose — Laurel. Links 2007-08-29, 07:47:00, Misstated amounts IN THE AUG. 28 ISSUE, a story on Page A2—“Gov’t can use $400-M China loan any which way”—misstated the cost of the National Broadband Network (NBN) project and the amount of the credit line extended by China to the Philippines. The NBN project is estimated to cost $330 million—not P330 million—and the credit line extended by China to the Philippines amounts to $1.8 billion—not P1.8 billion.
