To Sinulog organizers: Congratulations!
CONGRATULATIONS to the Sinulog Foundation for the Sinulog grand Mardi Gras last Jan. 21. I am also extending my congratulations to Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeņa, Vice Mayor Michael Rama and the City Council for giving their support.
Sinulog Foundation open to audit
The Sinulog Foundation Inc. will open its book of accounts to any auditing firm to prove that its finances are in order.
Osmeņa: Sinulog is not for profit
The Sinulog Foundation is not a profit-earning organization. This was how Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeņa defended the losses that the foundation had incurred in 2005 and 2006 when the city's expenses in holding the celebration outweighed its profits.
Sinulog bash sees red
DESPITE hefty donations from the Cebu City government every year, the private foundation which mounts the annual Sinulog Festival still shows a growing loss in its books.
What I did during the Sinulog
I must admit a bias with the Sinulog celebrations. I am old enough to remember the first one in the time of Mayor Solon. (I am not sure if his first name was Florentino but since I cannot be sure beyond the shadow of a doubt I will just take the safer course of parenthesizing.
