I thought of a game. It goes like this:
I pose a movie question in the format “What is your favorite <X>?”, where <X> is any movie-related question you can think of. It can be as general or specific as you like. As you might expect, the next person answers the very personal question and then asks a new question in the same format. a couple basic examples to get the juices flowing… Q: What is your favorite Monty Python film? A: The Holy Grail Q: What is your favorite film with a color in the title? A: Red Dawn Warmed up? Ok. The first real question: What is your favorite movie which extensively features Scotland? |

What is your favorite movie which extensively features Scotland? Golly, JC, you're prolific this evening. I would have to say that in general I would avoid films with Scotland in so I only really have one option: Casino Royale (1967). What is your favourite film in which insanity (of the character, not your own, DAD fans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) plays a part? |

Golly, JC, you're prolific this evening. Yes, I am feeling quite viral today. I would have to say that in general I would avoid films with Scotland in so I only really have one option: Casino Royale (1967). Incorrect! The correct answer is Braveheart! (Didn't I mention that I get to grade all responses since it's my thread?) What is your favourite film in which insanity (of the character, not your own, DAD fans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) plays a part? Answer: Silence of the Lambs, with honorable mention to Edward Norton's work in Primal Fear. Q: What is your favorite film in which a submarine is involved in the plot? |

You didn't mention the grading, no, and I'm afraid you'd have to pay me to watch Braveheart. Two can play at that game, though, and in fact the correct answer to mine is Dr Strangelove. Ha!
Submarines, hmmmm. I don't remember the name but I think there was one from the sixties where the men have to let women on board the sub? That one. I liked it when I was about 8. Which is your favourite movie where a beautiful actress frumps up and makes herself look ugly to try and win an Oscar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ? |

I thought for sure I'd get a seaman crack*. (*see what I did there?) Which is your favourite movie where a beautiful actress frumps up and makes herself look ugly to try and win an Oscar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ? Well come on, play nice. "This or That" offers more choices than you do! My answer is Kathy Bates for her work in Misery. She's normally hot. Q: What is your favorite time-travel movie? |

It's a film that, by rights, shouldn't work and shouldn't be timeless; but it's pure magic. What is your favorite film featuring at least one giant courtroom scene? *And because I wish I could have answered the submarine question, I'll have to go with Yellow Submarine, because it's...well, Yellow Submarine. |
