Don Pearson


Don M. Pearson (BS 1965) grew up with a love for BYU. As a youth, he would listen with his father to BYU basketball on the radio and cheered the Cougars NIT championship. While at BYU, he and his debate partner won 1st place in the mens division at the first tournament in the fall of 1959 at Washington State University. He was a member of the Student Senate and Junior Class president. Don graduated from BYU in 1965 as valedictorian of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He then attended Harvard Law School and graduated cum laude in 1968. There he was president of the Learned Hand Club. He is the author of Attorneys Guide to California Stock Qualification and Exemption, which was published in 1969 by the California Continuing Education of the Bar. He is senior partner in Argue Pearson Harbison & Meyers in Los Angeles. He has been chairman of the Taxation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and of the Los Angeles Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He was recipient of its outstanding lawyer award in 2001. He has served in various capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including seminary teacher, scoutmaster, Bishop, counselor and president in the Glendale stake. He is now a sealer in the Los Angeles temple. Don has also held many positions in his community. He was member and later chairman of the Glendale City Planning Commission, Flintridge Preparatory School Board of Trustees, Beverly Foundation, and is currently president of Glenoaks Canyon Homeowners Association. He is married to Ann Welch (BS 1965). They are the parents of six children and live in Glendale, Calif.
