Jay-Z Rolling Stone Cover

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

Jay-RS-Cover.jpg

Cover of Rolling Stone? Check.

In a corner of Jay’s office, on the floor, there’s a street sign that says MARCY AVE., a remnant from his days in the Marcy projects. And on his desk, in the center, is the Best Rap Solo Performance Grammy he won for "99 Problems," the guitar-heavy 2003 single produced by Rick Rubin from the CD that announced Jay’s retirement as a recording artist, The Black Album. The Grammy arrived a few days ago, and he decided to let it sit on his desk for a moment before bringing it home. Six years ago, Jay boycotted the Grammy Awards, saying, "Too many major rap artists continue to be overlooked." Not anymore. "I didn’t care about Grammys until we won one," he says. This is his fourth. Beyonce has eight. He says she teases him about having so few.

Go Shorty…

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

50girlsmall.jpg

…it’s your Bat Mitzvah.

For his estimated $500,000, I hear that 50 Cent performed only four or five songs - and badly - though he did manage to work in the lyric, "Go shorty, it’s your bat miztvah, we gonna party like it’s your bat mitzvah."

At one point, I’m told, one of Fitty’s beefy bodyguards blocked shots of his boss performing and batted down the kids’ cameras, shouting "No pictures! No pictures!" - even preventing Brooks’ personal videographers and photographers from capturing 50 Cent’s bat-miztvah moment.

"Fitty and his posse smelled like an open bottle of Hennessy," a witness told told me, adding that when the departing rapper prepared to enter his limo in the loading dock, a naked woman was spotted inside. - NYDN

Kanye on Barbara Walters Tonight

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

 kanye_2020.jpg

Oh boy, you just know some classic statements are gonna be made during this interview. We already know that Kanye kept it gangsta and didn’t back down from his Bush comments (which I would hope he wouldn’t), but who knows what egomaniacal statements this guy is gonna utter with a straight face. The reason for the interview is Kanye has been selected by Walters as one 2005’s Most Fascinating People.

From the interview:

Barbara Walters: “During a telethon for Hurricane Katrina, Kanye caused a storm of his own.”

Kanye West on the telethon: “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

Walters to West: “Do you think what you said then you still feel today?”

West: “I spoke from, I spoke from my heart, and I stand by my statement.”

This should be interesting. I hear Barbara also spits a freestyle and works the boards in the studio with Kanyeezy.

Notorious party girl and all around Hollywood slut and alcoholic Lindsay Lohan got her grind on with Juelz Santana on Jay Leno the other night.  Even funnier to me though is how Juelz had his trademark ad-lib ‘A!’ encrusted with diamonds and turned into a pendant for his chain. Say what you want about Dipset but they broke the mold when they made these guys. (Pic jacked from The Fader)

No, I’m lying. But wouldn’t that have been great? From the NY Daily News:

The feud between 50 Cent and Samuel L. Jackson may be over, alas. The actor and rapper shook hands at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards 2005 in L.A. …

Damian Marley ft. Nas - Road to Zion *Video*

Road to Zion - Damian Marley ft. Nas

The video for Damian Marley’s Road to Zion featuring Nas. Good video, but I had to laugh at George Clinton and The Game being locked up with Nas, and Damian handing out postcards with the Lion of Judah on them(??). After Nas analyzes the card, he manages to escape the prison he’s in and reunite with the young Marley back in a project hallway. At that point the video ends, but there’s no doubt these two righteous men hung around burning incense, praising Jah, and chanting down babylon.

The Game - Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin’ DVD

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

trailer.gif

On December 6th The Game is dropping the Stop Snitchin - Stop Lyin DVD, which he’s been promoting with his 120 Bars freestyle. Although Game recently wished 50 the best of luck at the Vibe awards, at the time he was sporting a G-Unot haircut and tattooon his right arm. It’s funny the way he tries to act like he’s not  thinking about 50, when it’s pretty obvious to everybody else that he’s obsessed with the guy. I mean riding against dude is one thing, but Game is taking this thing to a whole new level if you know what I mean. The DVD features Game traveling to 50’s estate in Conneticut and stealing the rim from his basketball court, and a visit to the G-Unot billboard on Jamaica Avenue in 50’s old hood.

Several different domain names have been registered such as 50sasnitch.com, wedonttalktopolice.com, and theblairsnitchproject.com but they all point to the same website where you can preorder the DVD and re-up on G-Unot t-shirts and BlackWallStreet merchandise. Below are a couple of clips of Game talking about the DVD and new song from Game featuring Paul Wall. Despite 50’s continued insistence that Game will not be working with their boss on his upcoming album, the song features production from none other than the Dr. himself.

More DVD features from stopsnitchinstoplyin.com:

-Game’s G-Unot Billboard in Queens, NY
-Tons of other hip hop figures speaking on the beef
-The whole truth about G-Unit
-The real NYPD "Hip Hop Cops"
-Searching for Oliver
-Farmington, Connecticut (50s crib)
-Game playing basketball in the Bronx
-The truth about Tony Gayo being locked up
-Plus much much more you have to see to believe
DVD Also Includes The Following Bonus Features:
-Entire footage of Game being wrongfully arrested and brutalized by the Police in North Carolina
-The Blair Snitch Project (Searching in 50’s Woods in CT)

bush_pimp.jpg

From MTV News:

50 thinks the president is "incredible … a gangsta." "I wanna meet George Bush, just shake his hand and tell him how much of me I see in him," 50 told GQ. If the rapper’s felony conviction didn’t prevent him from voting, 50 said he would have voted for Bush.

From Rapdirt.com

Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Tuesday night, "In an interview in GQ, rap artist 50 Cent says he is a big fan of President Bush…this increases President Bush’s approval rating among African Americans to one."
