For public libraries

  • Public Library Services
    Public Library Services provide an advisory service on all aspects of public library provision to NSW state and local governments and to public libraries throughout the state.
  • Public Library Network (PLN) Research Program
    The Public Library Network (PLN) Research Program was established in July 2002 to inform the promotion, planning, development and review of the NSW Public Library Network, including the State Library with quality research and evaluation.
  • Information Services
    Information Services at the State Library include the State Reference Library, the Mitchell Library and other specialist services. Information services are provided to the people of New South Wales through the public library network, as well as to individuals nationally and internationally.
  • Document Supply Service
    Document supply services are provided to the people of New South Wales through the public library network. Loans and copies of materials are also available to other libraries and individuals.
  • Legal Information Access Centre
    For access to the LIAC information pathway and information about LIAC resources, training and promotional activities for public libraries.
  • Health Information Service
    The Health Information Service provides access to quality consumer health information. Staff can advise on health resources and assist with health related inquiries.
  • Australian Indigenous Services
    The Australian Indigenous services provides access to quality information and resources for public libraries. Our staff can assist public libraries with indigenous related reference inquiries, client education and family history programs. We also provide assistance in the development of indigenous collections and services.
  • NSW.net
    NSW.net provides councils, libraries and their communities with affordable access to the Internet, free access to quality online databases, and has provided over 700 Public Access Internet Terminals to public libraries in NSW, to ensure that people across the State have free Internet access.
  • Building and Planning Advisory Service
    The Building and Planning Advisory Service can assist you to plan a new library building or reorganise an existing one.
