Nova Scotians are pretty fortunate. We are never more than a half hour away from the ocean. We are surrounded by genuine, proud and caring people. We have incredible learning institutions, and of course, Nova Scotia is beautiful. Sometimes we take these things for granted. I know I do. But thankfully, I’ve had the opportunity to speak to Garry Oliver. Garry and his partner now call Nova Scotia home. They moved here recently, from Poland. I started to ask some questions and really started to swell with pride about the province I call home. I hope their story will have the same impact on you. Garry and his partner Kamila had been living and working in Poland for 10 years. He had heard a great deal about Atlantic Canada from a business associate. Garry and his partner run an organization that helps under privileged children and were hoping to set up an office in North America.Garry and Kamila Oliver

Genuine, Hardworking, Dependable... Nova Scotians

Dawn Sloane, Halifax Regional CouncillorMany would agree that Nova Scotians are among our provinces best assets. We’re pretty incredible people. We are hardworking, genuine, dependable and community minded. All of these traits came to mind this morning after receiving a story from an acquaintance of mine. It impressed me so much - that I’d thought I’d share it with you. It speaks to the type of people who live and work in Nova Scotia.
