Jack Mathews - a recent convert to the world of blogs - has been a critic, reporter, columnist and movie editor for 25 years. Before joining the Daily News he was senior film critic at Newsday, movie editor and columnist at the Los Angeles Times, senior film critic at USA Today, and West Coast bureau chief for the Detroit Free Press. He's the author of "The Battle of Brazil," a book chronicling the fight between film director Terry Gilliam and Universal Pictures over the classic movie "Brazil."


David Bianculli

David Bianculli has been the Daily News TV critic since 1993, and TV critic for National Public Radio's "Fresh Air," where he also appears as occasional guest host, since 1987. He's worked as a TV critic for newspapers in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York. Bianculli has a BS in Journalism and an MA in Journalism and Communications, both from the University of Florida. And he watches a lot of TV, sometimes on 12 sets simultaneously.

Jim Farber has beenDaily News chief pop music critic for more than a decade. Along with writing regular trend pieces, profiles, reviews, and news  for the paper, he pens regular columns each week. Over the years, he has written for hundreds of publications in the U.S. and abroad and has contributed essays and chapters to more than dozen books. His essay in last year's "Rolling Stone: The '70s" won a Deems Taylor Award, the most prestigious prize in music criticism.

Joe Dziemianowicz is the Daily News drama critic. In addition to Broadway and Off-Broadway reviews, he writes news stories, profiles and features. Joe joined the paper in 2000. He is a member of the New York Drama Critics' Circle. Joe has been a journalist for nearly two decades. He has been published in a number of newspapers and national magazines including Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide, InStyle and Biography. He is from Lake George, New York.

Author and life coach Harriette Cole is the creative director of Ebony magazine. She is also the host and relationship expert for a reality dating series on the ABC Family Channel, as well as the author of many inspiring and life-affirming books. Harriette's syndicated advice column appears in the Daily News from Monday through Saturday.


David Hinckley

David Hinckley +

David Hinckley joined the Daily News in 1980 and for the last dozen years has been critic-at-large. From this floating position he tries to frame a context for modern American popular culture, though he sometimes has to settle for a reference to Bob Dylan or the Brooklyn Dodgers.


Robert Dominguez

Robert Dominguez +

Robert Dominguez has been a Daily News entertainment columnist, critic and reporter for 15 years. The first editor-in-chief and senior writer of the News’ Viva New York bilingual magazine, he has covered Latino arts and entertainment in his weekly ¿Que Pasa? column since 1993. A South Bronx native who also grew up in Queens, Dominguez is a playwright and filmmaker whose work was most recently produced at the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival.


Richard Huff

Richard Huff is the Daily News' Deputy Features Editor/Television, overseeing and writing TV coverage at the paper. In addition to being an expert on TV, Huff is an award-winning motorsports writer for the News. Away from the paper, Huff spends his time helping his neighbors as a volunteer EMT for the Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad.

Howard Kissel writes the Sunday "Cultural Tourist" column and does reviews of art and classical music. He has been chairman of both the New York Film Critics Circle and the New York Drama Critics Circle. In 1994 he served on the drama jury for the Pulitzer Prize. He has written "The Abominable Showman," an unauthorized biography of David Merrick, and "Stella Adler on the Art of Acting," both published by Applause. In 1980 he played Woody Allen's manager in "Stardust Memories."

Ethan Sacks has worked at the Daily News for more than ten years; he has been a fanboy geek for most of his thirty-four years on this planet. His proudest moment? Having Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee dub his daughter "an official Superheroine, forevermore entitled to wear the colors and insignia of the fabled House of Sacks. So hath it been stated. So shall it be." A close second was the actual birth of said daughter ...


Andrew Katchen

Andrew Katchen has worked for the Daily News for roughly two years. From what he recalls, his first record was the soundtrack to The Muppet Movie. Some of his favorite bands and musicians include Gorilla Biscuits, Rites of Spring, Pavement, Mark Eitzel, Prince, PiL, Rufus Wainwright, The Strokes, Donna Summer, Chisel, Ida, The Sundays, Can, Antioch Arrow and King Tubby. A University of South Carolina graduate, he misses his beloved Blue Cactus Café and his gigantic old apartment on Preston Street.
