Searching

You can search the website content through the site search located in the top right corner of the page or by clicking on the link at the foot of each page.

Search the Library catalogues by using the catalogue search facility in the left column of the homepage, or by selecting the catalogues department of the website in the main navigation.

Site map

You can use our site map to find out exactly what pages are included in each department of the website and see how they relate to each other.

Navigating through the site

Each page has been designed to enable you to be one or two clicks away from the main sections of the site.

Click on the main horizontal navigation bar to reach the main page of each of the website’s departments.

The sub-navigation of each department drops on the left of the screen. Select pages from this list to navigate your way through the department.

Each department of the website has been allocated its own colour to aid your navigation through the website.

The row of pages under the main navigation (‘You are here:’) allows you to move back through that particular website department one page at a time – click on the title of the page you wish to visit.

To return to the NLW front page, just click on The National Library of Wales logo in the header image.

Website accessibility

We have attempted to make our site as accessible as possible.

We have included a Skip Navigation link on all our pages.

Our pages are constructed so that you can use them without a keyboard by tabbing though each link and then pressing ENTER.

Many of our catalogues are accessible online. We regularly test our website for accessibility against the W3C guidelines and all new pages include accessibility as a key performance measure.

This statement covers all pages within the main body of the llgc.org.uk website. Certain exhibitions, projects and catalogues created before 2004 will not be as accessible.

If you have any suggestions or would like more information on how we have made this site accessible, please email the webmaster@llgc.org.uk.

Catalogue accessibility statement

Every attempt has been taken to ensure that the catalogue is accessible to as many people as possible.

We have tried to meet W3C Guidelines at every stage of development and are working in partnership with vendors to reach WAI AA compliance across the site.

The site has been designed entirely using CSS for layout and relational font sizing has been used throughout, thus enabling the user to alter the size/font/colour from their own personal CSS file or browser settings.

Where colour has been used to aid navigation or reading, every effort has been taken to ensure that this information is duplicated through other non-visual or non-colour means.

Whilst we try our utmost to maintain a high standard of accessibility across the catalogue, there may be some sections, which have yet to be developed, or which are provided by 3rd parties and cannot be maintained by us. We assure you that we are working with partners and developers to make these sections of the catalogue as accessible as the rest.

If you experience any difficulties whilst navigating the catalogue, we would be very keen to hear from you. With your help we can improve the user experience for all users.
