New York Foundations

Achelis Foundation - A New York-based organization funding youth, rehabilitation, biomedical research, child welfare, major cultural institutions, hospitals and health care, social services, alcohol and drug abuse, father absence and responsible fatherhood, and education, primarily in New York City.

Bernard F. and Alva B. Gimbel Foundation - Grants are currently made in the areas of education, social welfare, the environment, and reproductive rights. In the areas of public education and social welfare, the Foundation's grantmaking is focused almost entirely on organizations based in New York City.
