Opened in February 2001, Buena Vida Continuing Care and Rehabilitation
Center is a state-of-the-art 240-bed residential healthcare center
providing long and short term care including rehabilitation. Planned
and built in cooperation with local community groups, Buena Vida
was sponsored by the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizen Council,
and was designed to complement its residential neighborhood.
Comfortable modern amenities are provided in a home-like environment.
Spacious sun-filled rooms and lounges are ideal for social visits,
recreation, or solitary activities. Buena Vida's environment is
designed to promote the clinical, social, and spiritual healing
of its residents. To assure that our services remain in touch
with these needs, Buena Vida has an active resident and family
council.
Continuing Care at Buena Vida is provided in a supportive, clinically
supervised environment designed for the care of the frail elderly
or disabled adult requiring a level of health care services that
cannot be provided at home. Buena Vida is staffed by highly skilled
professionals who are committed to the health and welfare of the
residents.
Looking Forward
to Our Future
Buena Vida has already developed an outstanding reputation for
quality resident care in the communities we serve. To meet the
growing demand for high quality service and care, the facility
has initiated an expansion and renovation program which was completed
in 2005. The project created a new and expanded clinical services
center on the eighth floor with breath-taking views of the New
York City skyline.
The Center houses an expanded Rehabilitation Department including
Physical and Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Speech Therapy,
Dentistry, Ophthalmology, and Employee Health. The Resident Care
Units were also reconfigured to provide "restaurant-style"
dining (instead of tray service), and expanded space for medication
administration and storage. New administrative spaces include
a Board Room and conference spaces, the consolidation of Nursing
Administration, and upgraded facilities for Social Work, Admissions,
and Finance.
